9th Annual Hot Chocolate Awards

We are proud to present the results of the 9th Annual HOT CHOCOLATE AWARDS Competition.

The International Chocolate Salon Awards for the 9th Annual HOT CHOCOLATE AWARDS are based on the combined taotal number of votes received by each entrant from the Judging Panel.

The Judging Panel consists of National and Regional Magazines, Newspaper and Blog Editors, plus Topic Experts, Local Chefs and Food Gurus.

The award winners below have the honor of being able to display and use the Official Award Winner title and award logos, as well as use items (such as the Award Winner lapel pin), as well as use Custom Award Certificates, product label stickers, and logo award merchandise.

  • I did like the Panache Chocolatier Cafe Espresso Cocoa the most.
  • Loved the velvety smooth richness of Delysia's drinking chocolates, especially the Golden Dark, it's like liquid gold!
  • Enjoyed Aldi's hot chocolate snowman which melted to transform into a sweet, marshmallowy hot chocolate treat.
  • Loved Moco hot chocolate mixes; their simple and pure ingredients like the cocoa and other ingredients shine.
  • The combination of cocoa powder and chocolate yields the richest and most pleasing hot chocolate
  • Delysia makes absolutely the best hot cocoa I’ve ever had. I was skeptical about the eggnog because I generally don’t like white chocolate and it turned out to be my favorite one. I also added whiskey like they recommended.

JUDGES COMMENTS

  • Delysia and Panache had the richest flavors although the list of ingredients was not part of the information/ I found the peppermint flavors to be rich ad satisfying. The Mexican hot cocoas added to my enjoyment. The melting snowman was refreshingly different, but the process was not to my liking. The Gold dark was the most nuanced of all of the flavors. This was a great time to taste cocoa since it has been cool and often rainy. Eggnog for me is different than eggnog flavored cocoa but the idea of putting rum or whiskey does greatly change what I would be drinking at that could be a good thing. It would change the drink from a morning back fro a brisk walk beverage to a nighttime relaxing beverage right before retiring to the bedroom.
